Matched Pair of 5ft Full Plait 12-plait Australian Competition Stock Whips featuring Saddle tan thongs with Jade Green and Saddle Tan 2-toned handles. Handmade by Mike Murphy, these naturally weighted 12plait thongs made side by side as a true balanced matched pair with 2-toned full plait 16-plait spring steel lined 21in handles. 5 1/2ft has always been the 'go to' the default length to choose for competition stockwhips. 5ft stockwhips are a bit different, often termed "fast" or "quick" whips. Competition whipcrackers will often use 5 1/2's for Cross-over and 4 Corners routines and then pick up their 5ft set for faster routines, like the old school "Train". The challenge in making them is in keeping the big sound these whips needs as their speed lifts. If you're a little shorter than most people you meet, then a 5ft pair will also behave for you like 5 1/2's do for those of more 'average' height.
